When we at Mowery Heating, Cooling & Plumbing say we’re “in the business of service,” we mean it. Not just service calls, not just HVAC or plumbing, but community service — stepping up when and where we’re needed.

Recently, the folks at Messiah Lutheran Church in Brownsburg reported that their pantry now serves 500-600 individuals per month across Hendricks County. WRTV Indianapolis The need is real. Families are stretched. And our town is responding.

The Town of Brownsburg is currently running its 10th annual “Let’s Give Food Drive,” open through December 5th. WRTV Indianapolis It’s inspired us to ask: what can we do, here and now, to help?

Why We’re Getting Involved

We believe that being local means more than having an address in Brownsburg — it means being part of the fabric.

  • If a neighbor’s furnace goes out in January, we show up.
  • If a family’s water heater fails on a cold morning, we’re there.
  • And yes — if local families are going hungry or facing uncertainty, we NEED to do something.

As one volunteer shared: “A lot of people come in very stressed out, but if they can leave with a cart full of food, it’s just one less thing they have to worry about.” WRTV Indianapolis We believe the same principle applies in our work: when you handle the heating, cooling or plumbing problem right, you give someone peace of mind in their home.

What We’re Doing

Here’s how we at Mowery are supporting the drive:

  • We’ve committed to making a donation of non-perishable items and cooking essentials (everything from oil, syrup, condiments to the staples) — because the pantry asked for things that “make meals better” too, beyond the basic canned goods. WRTV Indianapolis
  • We’re encouraging our team and our customers in Brownsburg and Hendricks County to drop off donations at the collection points listed in the article (Town Hall, Parks Office, Library, Police Department, Fire Territory Headquarters). WRTV Indianapolis
  • We’ll share a photo on social showing our team with the donation box, and invite our community to join us in “filling the cart” for neighbors who need help.

What You Can Do

If you’re reading this, you’re part of our community too. Here’s how you can help:

  1. Donate: Bring items to one of the authorized drop-off locations by December 5th.
  2. Ask: If your own household is stable, consider donating extras — condiments, cooking oil, syrup, quick-prep meals, even grocery gift cards.
  3. Share: Tell a friend. Use your social media. Let’s make this a community movement beyond just one house or one business.
  4. Support Local: If you’re choosing vendors (for HVAC, plumbing or otherwise), support those who support the community. Businesses that give back help make Brownsburg stronger.

Our Promise to You

At Mowery, we pledge to keep showing up for you — whether that means fixing a furnace, unclogging a drain, or walking into a community pantry with donations in hand. We’re not just your service provider; we’re your neighbor.

The plane that once flew over the stadium, the trucks that roll out on every job, the team that answers your call — they all reflect the same idea: We’re built to serve.

Thank you for being part of the community. Together, we’ll make this holiday season a little brighter for someone who needs it.
