What is the best way to know if your HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) company does a good job? Well, it used to be that you could ask your neighbor over the fence. In today’s digital world, however, you don’t have to leave the comfort of your home to find out more information that you’re likely to ever need, with just the click of a mouse.
Angie’s List is the modern equivalent of that chat across the back fence. It’s a clearinghouse for comments from people around your area, rating the quality of service and workmanship that they’ve received from a variety of services and businesses.
As an added benefit to customers, Angie’s List selects about 5 percent of businesses to award with its Super Service Provider ranking. To receive this coveted award, you must have reviews dating back at least three years, with an average A rating.
Businesses receive an A rating based on the report grade where an A is 4.0. If you have at least eight reports during the most recent year, your average rating must be 3.5 to receive the Super Service Provider award. If you have fewer reports during the year, you must have a higher average rating to receive it. For example, if you have only four reported grades, you must have at least an average of 3.75 to wind the award.
